During preparations for the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Finals, defender Nguyễn Ngô Thảo Nguyên and goalkeeper Lê Thị Thu of the Vietnamese U20 women's national team shared their thoughts on training, adapting to new tactical demands, and the team's objectives for the continental tournament.

As the goalkeeper, Lê Thị Thu stated the entire team is focusing on improving physical fitness and strength through higher-intensity training. Changes in personnel and tactics require players to quickly adapt to meet the professional demands against strong opponents.

According to Lê Thị Thu, all teams in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Finals are physically tall and adept at utilizing aerial play. Therefore, the whole team must maintain high concentration and strictly follow the coaching staff's tactics. For her position as goalkeeper, she aims to position herself effectively and handle difficult situations safely to ensure the goal's security.

Being called up to the national team is a great honor for Lê Thị Thu. The Vietnamese U20 women's national team began training camp on February 23 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center under head coach Okiyama Masahiko. According to the plan, the team will train in China from March 6 to 14, then move to Ho Chi Minh City from March 15 to 28 to acclimatize to weather conditions similar to the tournament location in Thailand. Here, the team is scheduled to play two friendly matches against the Uzbekistan U20 women's team on March 24 and 27.
