Vidal: 'I am better than Pirlo, Alonso, and Busquets'

Arturo Vidal caused controversy by asserting he is more complete and excellent than Pirlo, Alonso, or Casemiro, with his daring remarks instantly creating waves in the football world.

Arturo Vidal once again became the center of controversy after making confident statements about his standing among the world's midfielders. During a conversation on a podcast Focused, the former Chilean national team player straightforwardly claimed he surpasses many legendary stars who once dominated European football.

When asked if he believed he was better than the top midfielders of his generation, Vidal did not hesitate. Mentioning Sergio Busquets, he showed certain respect but still affirmed his own superiority: “Busquets is the best number 5. But I can do everything on the pitch, which makes me more complete.”

Not stopping there, Vidal continued to compare himself to Xabi Alonso. According to the midfielder born in 1987, he possesses a more diverse skill set than the former Real Madrid star. “Alonso has excellent long-range shooting, but he used to call me the boss,” Vidal said, as a way of asserting his influence both in the locker room and on the field.

The next name mentioned was Casemiro. Although the Brazilian midfielder won numerous Champions League titles with Real Madrid, Vidal confidently believes he is at a higher level due to his all-around playing style.

However, Vidal's most controversial statement was when he placed himself above Andrea Pirlo. “Pirlo is a legend, a special player. But I am more complete. I can attack, defend, tackle, head the ball, and score. To compete with the best, you must be versatile. There's a reason Pirlo let me take the penalty,” Vidal shared.

These frank words quickly triggered intense debate on social media. While it's undeniable that Vidal had an impressive career with Juventus, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Inter Milan, many opinions argue he went too far by placing himself above global football icons.

Currently, Vidal is playing for Colo-Colo in his native Chile, but his latest statements show that his strong personality remains unchanged over the years.
