Extremely surprising: HAGL's Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh becomes head coach of Ninh Binh

As reported by Bongdaplus, Coach Vu Tien Thanh is set to assume the "hot seat" at Ninh Binh FC following the team's separation from Mr. Gerard Albadalejo.

Ninh Binh FC is about to enter a pivotal phase of the 2025/26 season with a major change in the coaching staff. According to information from Bongdaplus, the Ancient Capital club will appoint Mr. Vu Tien Thanh as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

This decision was made shortly after Ninh Binh officially parted ways with Spanish coach Mr. Gerard Albadalejo and his assistant Josep Maria Roma on the evening of March 2nd. This decisive move by the club's leadership stems from a string of three consecutive defeats in V-League 2025/26, causing Ninh Binh to lose its advantage in the championship race.

Under Mr. Albadalejo, the Ancient Capital representative initially impressed with an 11-match unbeaten run from the start of the season. However, the team's form declined sharply with successive losses to CAHN, HAGL, and Thep Xanh Nam Dinh. From the top of the standings, Ninh Binh fell to third place, trailing CAHN by 8 points despite having played one fewer match.

Facing the urgent need to stabilize the team's performance, it is known that Chairman Nguyen Duc Thuy discussed personnel support options with Chairman Doan Nguyen Duc. In the spirit of cooperation for the common development of Vietnamese football, HAGL agreed to allow Mr. Vu Tien Thanh, currently the Director of the HAGL Academy, to take on the role of interim head coach at Ninh Binh until the club finds a new permanent manager. The appointment is expected to be finalized on March 4th.
